Everybody likes to receive flowers however if, you like me, are never quite sure what the quality of a bouquet will be when you’re ordering online I might just be able to help.
A few weeks ago I received a Christmas bouquet from Prestige Flowers and I’ve got to say that they were absolutely stunning. Not only were they beautifully presented, but they were also in great condition and lasted for ages.
Packaging is always a concern normally, but these flowers arrived in a sturdy box that hadn’t crushed or compromised the quality of the flowers one iota and not only that but the bouquet came in a large stylish cut glass vase. So, all I had to do was take them out of the box and put them straight on my table – no pruning, re-organising or dead-heading required at all.
So, if you’re looking to send someone you love a little something extra this Christmas don’t just go straight to the same old places, try this instead: https://www.prestigeflowers.co.uk/christmas-flowers
Waitrose might be the butt of lots of jokes from comedians looking to try and hide their own middle class backgrounds and ‘get down with the people’ (Michael McIntyre, we’re looking at you!), but if you’re anything like me what you look for in a supermarket is good quality produce and great value.
If you like me are shopping on a budget it’s really important to know that you’re getting a good deal on the basics and essentials that make up the bulk of your shopping basket, and Waitrose is the same as every other supermarket in this repsect. If you don’t mind buying a different brand of kitchen roll or looking for what’s on special offer that week, I can guarantee that shopping in Waitrose isn’t any more expensive that Sainsbury’s or Asda. (We’ll leave Lidl and Aldi to one side – if I wanted to shop off of crates and pallets I’d go to a cash’n’carry!).
Where it gets better though is the myWaitrose loyalty programme. It’s a free card that you use whenever you make a purchase instore or online, but it’s not the same as others shops as you don’t build up points to redeem later.
Instead you get your rewards in many different ways. you get offered a free tea of coffee each time you make a purchase with your card, and you get a ‘free’ newspaper if you spend five pounds and want one too. (Actually they say you pay for it and the amount is deducted off the rest of your shopping, but it’s essentially the same thing).
Probably the best innivation is the ‘chooseyour own offers’ angle. By logging in online you can choose 10 items from a very extensive list tha t pretty much covers every type of product and everytime you buy it and present your card you get 20% off. So if you buy a pizza for a fiver you only pay £4.00, everytime.
There’s also the chance to win exclusive prizes and occassionally you get discount vouchers in the post too.
Finally, one other thing to bear in mind is that Waitrose operates on a totally different business models from other shops. As part of the john Lewis Group, everyone who works for the company is actually a ‘partner’ which means they get a share of the profits as a bonus each year. This makes it in everyone’s interests to give customers what they want so they keep going back, and probably why the staff are always so friendly and knowledgable too.
In case you hadn’t noticed it’s nearly Valentines Day! It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, male or female, gay or straight, single or married – everyone loves to receive flowers. And everyone loves to receive flowers on Valentines Day, no matter how they may protest otherwise.
However, if you’re thinking of saying it flowers this year here’s a tip, don’t just follow the herd and buy a bunch of roses. Strike out, put some thought into it and send a bouquet that stands out from the crowd and really makes a statement.
It’s not too late to send that special someone in your life a floral declaration of your love and if you don’t know a thing about flowers or even what the person likes in terms of colour or scent here’s my tip for earning more brownie points than you could ever imagine.
Valentine’s Day Flowers from Prestige are beautiful. Mine arrived by next day delivery brilliantly packaged and complete with sleek glass vase. The flowers themselves were both vibrant and elegant, whilst also looking extremely expensive.
The amazing blend of sultry colours was matched only by the sweet yet subtle scent of the roses. They lasted for days and all in all they were the perfect choice for a romantic gesture to make Valentine’s Day really special.
Ok, so this is a slight departure (no pun intended) from my usual I Use This posts but bear with me.
I’ve never been a drink vodka “straight no mixer” type of girl before. That’s mainly because I’ve always found that they need a dash of coke, lemonade, tonic to smooth the taste out a little but also because I’ve never got my taste buds around so-called “flavoured” vodka either. However, my eyes have been opened and this has product has changed all that for good.
Can’t wait to try these beautiful looking products, so you can expect a review very soon x

Jewellery can be the finishing touches to a beautiful outfit or transform an otherwise casual “dress-down” day. The right piece of jewellery of course can also lift your spirits and bring back great and sentimental memories of people and places.
One thing that is always guaranteed to get pushed back down to the bottom of my To Do list is cleaning it - so it either doesn’t get worn or just looks drab. That was of course until I found a little secret weapon! (more…)
If you, like me, struggle to find that perfect pair of sunglasses each year then I think I might just have found a great solution for you.
Personally I need good dark and protective lenses to stop my extremely light sensitive eyes from squinting; a large shape of lens to protect me from flying pollen; a pair of sunglasses that don’t feel like they weigh a tonne on the bridge of your nose; and last (but definitely not least) something that actually looks good and suits me!
I’ve never tried a mail-order pair of sunglasses before but hey you should try everything at least once, right? After scrupulously flicking from one pair to the next on the prescription sunglasses website GlassesShop.com I decided what the hell, in for a penny in for a pound and chose the Heloise Wayfarers in brown with a nice and big 142mm frame.
