Can’t wait to try these beautiful looking products, so you can expect a review very soon x
Todays Guest Recommendation comes from the beautiful Maggie Zarzecka who I had the pleasure of working with in Brighton before she moved back to Poland. Maggie is one of those one in a million people who has the genuine ability to make you smile no matter how bad you feel so hopefully her three ‘I Use This’ items will work the same magic for you! So without further ado here are Maggie’s Guest Recommendations:
If you like me love products that are made with natural ingredients that not only work wonders but also smell amazing too then you’re in luck.
LouLouBelle London* is the brainchild of qualified beauty therapist and aromatherapist Magda Thompson who has been making her skincare products since 2011. Using 95% natural ingredients with her own unique blend of the highest quality essential oils Magda is very quickly making a (well-deserved) name for herself.
Over the last two weeks I’ve ditched my usual Clinique 3 step programme to try out LouLouBelle’s Dry Skin Face Set which includes Cleanser, Toner and Moisturiser.
You may remember that the lovely @CaronMalcolm was kind enough to tell us all about her love of The Groovy Food Company’s Virgin Coconut Oil a while ago and its multi-tasking abilities. Well today I’m glad to say Caron is back with a recommendation for one of my all time favourite products.
Yes you’re right, Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser has been around for quite a while now, steadily building a loyal fan-base around the globe but for those of you who haven’t tried it yet this is why you should: (more…)

Today’s recommendation comes from the fabulous Ms Caron Malcolm , tour manager extraordinaire! Caron’s top tip not only serves as an organic alternative to moisturisers but also tastes good too!…..This is how Caron discovered the multi-tasking properties of The Groovy Food Company’s Virgin Coconut Oil “I rushed downstairs one morning late as usual and as my face tightened to a prune I realised I hadn’t put anything on it. I grabbed a tiny smear of coconut oil from a jar by the cooker and what a find – felt lovely, smelt gorgeous and tasted great! I looked it up after and loads of people swear by it. Its great for face, body, hands and really good for hair. At £6 for a big jar of organic raw coconut oil it is bargain too”.
So there you have it, if you want to steer clear of products that say they’re organic but you still have to look up the ingredients this could be the product for you as all it contains is Organic Virgin Coconut Oil.
For all UK based readers this is available in most of the main supermarkets and indie stores store. The Groovy Food Company describe their coconut oil as “Bursting with natural goodness. At Groovy, we always insist on the best, which is why we only pick the finest, handpicked coconuts. Then, using traditional methods, we cold press the crisp white flesh to squeeze out the delicious organic oil. This not only tastes sublime but the benefits of coconut oil truly reach far and wide. Certain components of this tropical oil stand out for their valuable contribution to good health. Lauric acid, a medium-chain fatty acid found mainly in coconut oil, is one of these prized substances. Pure coconut oil contains about 50% lauric acid, and is the most abundant natural source available.
Our oil is processed on certified organic plantations using innovative technology to produce a high quality unrefined virgin coconut oil. This means it doesn’t contain any trans-fatty acids or fats produced by modern refining and processing methods.
Coconut oil is something of a wonder product. Especially great for roasting, frying, and baking, its high smoke point makes it ideal for cooking at high heats.
But the grooviness doesn’t end there; it’s also a beauty lover’s best friend. Smother it over your skin to keep it soft and smooth, or why not try applying it to the ends of your hair for a totally tropical hair treatment? Eyelashes benefit from a lengthening and strengthening application of the oil too, and you can even use it to remove make up. Is there anything it can’t do?
To store, simply keep the jar in a cool cupboard. On hot days, you might find it has gone extra runny, but don’t worry, just go with the flow!”
Today’s Guest Recommendation comes from the wonderful Ms Vicky Bartlett who is championing Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier. I’ve read about this but not yet gotten around to trying it. Based on Vicky’s experience though I’ll be giving this a try, which after all is what this blog is all about! So without further ado, I give you Vicky Bartlett’s Guest Recommendation:“Like many twenty something women I like to keep a watch of what’s hitting the high street in terms of beauty and love a good old rummage in large stores like Boots. During my most recent trip here I was after a make up remover/cleanser. I discovered the new Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier. (more…)
Today’s Guest Recommendation comes from the beautiful Silvia Martin in Barcelona who has been kind enough to tell us why she loves Aqualia Thermal from Vichy in not just one but three different languages, English, Spanish and Catalan!
This is Silvia’s must have product because “Aqualia Thermal is a moisturising face cream perfect for those who don’t want to spend too much time in front of the mirror, especially in the morning. I always apply it after having a shower and it lasts all day. It is rich but at the same time refreshing and it leaves your skin very soft and most importantly, hydrated. (more…)
I’ve just discovered this brand and I can safely say that I’m going to be a regular customer! I’m a sucker for good packaging and Le Couvent des Minimes products look so beautiful it’s hard to choose just one. However, after much deliberation my recommendation today goes to the amazing Gardener’s Hand Healer hand cream and I can definitely say that ‘I Use This’.
It doesn’t matter if you’re male, female, young or old, everybody loves a good hand cream. From the (most probably) dozens that I’ve tried over the years they generally fall into three categories – they either smell great but do nothing / smell awful but work a treat / do absolutely nothing except make everything else greasy!
